I mean, I love me some angst, but that’s what the show’s for, right? I could do something ultra angsty and/or depressing but I have a feeling we’ll get plenty of that when the show comes back. We’re gonna need plenty of fluff to get us through the rough patches, am I right?

(I also may be scarred by that one fic I wrote years ago that made an entire fandom cry. I haven’t written anything that sad since.)

Tagging because I want to see if other CSers agree or half-agree (If you’re following me and see this but don’t ship it, don’t bother replying). I ship Captain Swan because of the potential, not because I think they’re extremely close to being canon. True, I’ve reblogged things in the past…

It depends on how you define feelings. Is she out and out in love with him? I’m gonna lean toward not. But she feels something. Emma would not have gone to such great lengths to save his life from Gold if she didn’t care. She hid him in the hospital. She LEFT TOWN to save his life. You don’t do those things if you don’t care in some capacity.

Then - unknowingly - Hook messed that up by showing up in NYC. Then by working with Gregmara (partly because he thought no one cared about him). But Emma still appealed to his better angels when she tried to get the bean back. She could have punched him or something. But she didn’t. Because she does care. She may not be ready to admit to herself, but she does.

He’s gotten to her…and she’s gotten to him. That connection - however you define it - is important and will continue to be important. And now that they will be in such close quarters, it will grow. IMO, feelings exist on both sides of this, but neither is in a headspace where they can admit it out loud, even to themselves. But actions speak much louder than words.

this is what i love about Hook being with the Emma and the Charmings though—even if they won’t so easily get along (right away), it’s already a healthier partnership than ones he’s had with Cora, or Regina, or Gregmara just because unlike anyone else: they’re upfront with him.

They’re “clear”. That’s already way more than anyone has given him. Rather than snakily dancing around each other and trying to be the first to double-cross the other, Hook has had to earn their trust (and still will continue to).

What we saw of pre-Hook Killian (and glimmers of it with Emma) shows him to be a man as equally upfront as Charming, so being on their side is going to be really good for him and help him return to the man he was, not just in terms of romance with Emma, but in winning the respect of her whole family.

And don’t they always say…girls fall in love with someone like their dad? LOL Killian’s like the cracked mirror image of Charming. ;)
